At 0300 hours, officers were dispatched to assist Seattle Fire Department (SFD) with traffic control in the 1100 block of Leary Way Northwest. Officers arrived for a large multi-vehicle fire, but SFD had extinguished the fire and cleared the scene. Police spoke to the SFD Fire Marshal, and he said that they received an anonymous tip that someone was syphoning gas from the trucks when the fire started, no other information was received. It appears that six trucks were damaged by the fire. A funnel was found; it is unknown if it is related to the fire. No injuries were reported. SPD Arson Bomb Squad will be leading the investigation.

At 1344 hours, reports were received that a suspect stole money from a cleaning person. Officers contacted the suspect and search incident to arrest; a loaded extended pistol magazine was located on the suspect. The suspect resisted arrest but was eventually taken into custody.
#2026-066178/East Precinct/Second Watch/E1
At 1841 hours, officers responded to a threat call at a local department store located near the intersection of Belmont Avenue E and Denny Way. A suspect, who had previously been trespassed from the store, re-entered the premises and was asked to leave by the security staff. The suspect then pointed a firearm at the security guard and threatened to kill him. Officers conducted an area search for the suspect and found him near the light rail station. Upon apprehending him, they discovered a stolen 9mm handgun in his possession and took him into custody. The suspect was positively identified. The suspect was subsequently transported to the King County Jail for booking.
