Man Arrested With Meth and a Murder Warrant

Seattle police officers arrested a man with a murder warrant, in possession of meth, while attempting to cross the Ballard Bridge while the drawbridge mechanism was in operation.

On April 7 at about 8:00 p.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a man climbing over the pedestrian gate that blocks foot traffic on the side of the bridge. While attempting to identify the individual, he gave officers a fake name, yet this false identity happened to have a felony arrest warrant for assault.

The man quickly denied being this person.

Officers then correctly identified the suspect’s identity via a mobile fingerprint reader.

Police discovered that he was currently wanted by the WA State Department of Corrections for a 2nd Degree Murder warrant for Escaping Community Custody, as he “absconded from house arrest,” according to the police report.

Following his arrest, the suspect attempted to flee from officers while in handcuffs but he was unsuccessful. Officers searched the suspect and found a meth pipe and methamphetamine.

Police booked the escapee into the SCORE jail in Des Moines.
