At 0007 hours, officers responded to the location reference assisting SFD on a medical call. While SFD & SPD were enroute, the subject of the medical call, for unknown reasons, intentionally ignited his bed on fire and left the apartment. Officers found the subject and detained him. SFD extinguished the fire which did jeopardize adjacent occupied apartment units. The building had to be evacuated and there was significant flood damage from the fire suppression systems. There were no reported injuries. Fire Marshall 5 was on-scene and conducted their arson investigation. Subject was booked into KCJ for investigation of arson. 213 was notified. SPD’s ABS was notified.
