At 1502 hours, officers responded to a religious center in the west precinct for a demonstration that had been trending online nationwide. While en-route, responding officers were informed that some of the protesters of whom one was armed with a crowbar had forced entry into the religious organization by damaging the rear metallic doors. A member attempted to stop the protesters from gaining access into the building, but a protester brandished the crowbar at the member causing said member to fear for his safety. Officers soon arrived to detain the suspects after a brief foot pursuit. Surveillance footage was reviewed and probable cause was determined for Burglary 2nd Degree, Hate Crime, and Felony Harassment.
