#2026-138356/North Precinct/Third Watch/N3:
At 0058 hours, officers were dispatched to several reports of shots fired in the area and vehicles speeding away. Officers quickly arrived and located a scene where they recovered several shell casings. Several vehicles at a local repair shop were struck, but no injuries were reported. As officers were arriving at the scene, they observed a sedan with no plates leaving the scene, but the vehicle fled. Approximately an hour later, a similar white sedan was located, and the driver and passenger were contacted and identified after as stopped at a gas station. Officers were not able to determine if the sedan they had was the same as the one leaving the scene and they were released. GVRU notified.
#2026-138440/East Precinct/First Watch/G1:
At 0502 hours, officers responded to 9 Av / E Fir St to investigate a report of a female being shot. Officers located the female and determined she was not shot but “pistol whipped.” According to the victim she was cold and decided to sleep in an unknown person’s car. The owner returned and yelled at her to exit the vehicle. The owner fired a warning shot in the air and as she exited the vehicle, she was struck in the back of the head by the owner. She fled the scene and could not remember the type of vehicle or the location of the incident. Officers searched the area but could not locate the suspect or scene. GVRU notified.
#2026-139253/North Precinct/Third Watch/B1:
At 1950 hours officers responded to a threats call near the 6400 Block of 15th Ave NW. The complainant reported that an unknown male had made threats to kill “people in the area tomorrow morning.” Officers used previous reports and address records to identify the individual and their apartment. It was determined that the individual has had numerous crisis incidents and was released from a local hospital for ITA this morning. CRT attempted to evaluate the individual for ERPO on 5/18/2026 but were unable to make contact at their residence. Officers attempted contact at the individual’s residence at approximately 2345 hours. The individual at the location was highly agitated, demanded a warrant and screamed at officers to leave. Due to the escalated behavior and lack of solid PC for arrest/warrant officers vacated the premise to avoid escalation. 1st Watch was notified of the incident, CRT contacted for follow-up. 223 notified.
#2026-138739/South Precinct/Second Watch/R2:
At 1100 hours, GIU Detectives and South Patrol Officers conducted a joint Organized Retail Theft Operation at Safeway and Ross on Rainier Av S. Detectives teamed with loss prevention representatives to identify and apprehend suspects. 12 suspects were arrested for shoplifting. One of the suspects had a $250k SPD Felony Warrant. $800 in stolen merchandise was recovered. This was a team effort and could not have taken place without the hard work by GIU detectives, patrol, and partnership with the loss prevention employees at Safeway and Ross.
