Seattle police are investigating a shooting on June 12 near Belltown neighborhood that left one adult man seriously injured.
At about 2:34 a.m., officers responded to reports of shooting near 3rd Avenue and Pike Street. Officers arrived and found a 36-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to his left leg. Officers provided aid until Seattle Fire Department arrived. Medics transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center in serious but stable condition.
The investigation revealed that the suspect fled the scene shortly after the shooting, westbound on Pike Street and northbound through an alley. Officers searched the area but did not locate suspect. Police recovered a firearm from the alley.
Detectives with the Gun Violence Reduction Unit will be leading the investigation and will work to determine what led to the shooting.
