The Seattle Police Department is seeking the public’s help identifying a man suspected of sexually assaulting a child last weekend.
Seattle police began investigating the case after responding to a burglary in the Maple Leaf neighborhood around 5 a.m. on Sunday, September 13.
Upon further investigation, investigators learned that the burglary suspect sexually assaulted a child in the home after breaking in. Officers immediately canvased the neighborhood but did not locate the suspect. This case has been assigned to the Seattle Police Department’s Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit and is an active investigation. The FBI assisted with neighborhood canvassing and evidence collection.
The suspect is described as a white male, between 20-50 years old, about 200 pounds, thinning short brown hair, round, circular face with some stubble on his chin, wearing a black hoodie and dark-colored pants.
