The Independent Force Investigative Team – King County assumed direct investigative responsibility for an officer-involved death that occurred on September 12th, 2026 in south Seattle.
Based on the Seattle Police Department’s exit from the Federal Consent Decree in September 2025, the Seattle Police Department requested IFIT-KC to conduct the death investigation for the purpose of transparency and adherence with Washington State law. All information related to these investigations will come from that office. For an incident that occurred on September 12th, the weekly updates will be posted here for consolidation of information.
