Seattle police are investigating a hit-and-run collision that seriously injured a man early Monday morning near Greenwood neighborhood.
At about 12:17 a.m., officers received reports of a hit-and-run collision around North 97th Street and Aurora Avenue North. Officers arrived and found a 30-year-old man on the ground suffering from serious injuries. Officers provided aid until Seattle Fire Department arrived and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.
Police secured the area and began investigating. Officers interviewed witnesses and reviewed video footage to assist with the investigation.
The investigation revealed the victim was riding his bicycle southbound on Aurora Avenue North when he was struck from behind by a gray colored sedan. The driver continued southbound without stopping.
Detectives with the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad are leading the investigation and will work to determine what led up to the assault.
