At 1302 ours, officers assigned to a proactive patrol located a suspect using drugs in public. The suspect immediately fled the stop on foot and the officer chased after him. The suspect ran into the side of a slow passing vehicle. The officer caught and arrested the suspect. The suspect had numerous outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants including from Wenatchee and Snohomish County. It should be noted the arrest occurred only blocks from a middle school, which has been the site of recent focused enforcement to improve the quality of life for residents, students, and staff in the area. The suspect was booked into Snohomish County Jail following a hospital guard.

At 1924 hours, officers responded to the area of 10th Ave/E Pike St for shots heard. Officers located casings and damage to a vehicle and business window. Security from a nearby bar reported two men were in an argument and wanted to use the restroom in the bar. Security told them they could not enter, and one of the men began fighting security. The man brandished a firearm and then struck security in the face with the firearm. The victim and his co-worker ran across the street, and the suspect fired several shots. The victim sustained minor injury from being pistol whipped. No other injuries were reported.
