#2026-300440/South Precinct/Third Watch/S3
At 0124 hours, several callers called 911 stating they had heard several shots from the area. Officers arrived on scene and located 3 spent shell casings. While investigating the scene, officers heard another set of shots fired from the area of Rainier Ave South and South Henderson Street. When officers responded to that area, no casings were located, but a nearby business had a fresh bullet hole in the window of the building. Witnesses stated that occupants of a vehicle had been shooting at another vehicle.
#2026-300459/North Precinct/Third Watch
At 0200 hours, 911 received the report of a burglary just occurred. The suspect had kicked in the victim’s door and fled on foot. Officers were familiar with the suspect and knew him to have an active arrest warrant for burglary. Responding officers located the suspect as he was attempting to flee and took him into custody without incident. Upon arrival at the jail, the suspect was declined. The suspect is currently under hospital guard and will be booked for burglary and his warrant when he is medically cleared.
#2026-301070/North Precinct/Second Watch
At 1520 hours, In response to concerns from the neighborhood and nearby middle school officers were conducting a Narcotics Arrest Operation in the vicinity of a problem encampment. Officers observed a known warrant suspect and observed activity officers recognized as consistent with illicit drug transactions. Officer arrested the suspect and recovered 3g of crack cocaine in small baggies ready for distribution and a small amount of cash. Suspect has prior convictions for illegal drugs as well as Manslaughter. This arrest was made two blocks from a middle school.
