On January 20th at approximately 9:40 p.m. witnesses called 911 to report a man waving a gun around at a bus stop located in the 2700 block of 1st Avenue South. Officers arrived in the area and saw a man walking away from the suspect, who continued to brandish the gun in the presence of officers. An officer armed with a patrol rifle shot the suspect. The suspect fell to the ground and fire department medics were called to the scene to provide treatment. The medics transported the suspect to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. No one else was injured during this incident.
Homicide/Assault, Force Investigation Team and CSI detectives responded to the scene and continue to actively investigate.
**The suspect, a 36-year-old Seattle man, has died as a result of his injuries.
