SPD Arson investigators and Seattle fire marshals are investigating a suspicious blaze, which consumed the porch of a home in the Roosevelt neighborhood early this morning.
A man called 911 shortly after 2 AM when smoke began wafting through a bedroom on the second floor of his home in the 800 block of NE 72nd Street. Firefighters quickly arrived and extinguished the fire, which had consumed much of the victim’s front porch and scorched the basement and attic, as well as damaging the siding of the neighboring house.
Fire investigators believe the fire started on the front porch and spread from there.
