#2021-71212/South Precinct/First Watch:

On 03-24-2021 at 0908 hours, a male was seen driving into the neighborhood in a stolen commercial vehicle, park and approach the victim’s yards, looking over fences, throwing rocks and other odd/suspicious behavior. Officers responded to the scene and located the male subject. Probable cause was developed, and he was then taken into custody for Possession of a Stolen vehicle and PSP of other stolen property. Major Crimes Task Force and General Investigations Unit were contacted/notified. Detectives responded to the South Precinct and attempted to interview the subject. He was then booked into the King County Jail without incident. The victim responded to recover his stolen vehicle and other stolen property contents.

#2021-071465/East Precinct/Second Watch:

On 03-24-2021 at 1448 hours, a male victim was working for Harborview Medical Center attempting to provide food for the suspect, who was a patient at the hospital. The suspect assaulted the victim by throwing his full bedpan at him. The suspect made racial comments while the assault occurred. The victim felt that the suspect’s actions were racially motivated as the suspect has been known to be racially aggressive toward certain staff members. The suspect was arrest and booked into the King County Jail for Malicious Harassment and Assault.

#2021-071504/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:

On 03-24-2021 at 1524 hours, DOC conducted a search of a subject’s vehicle in the 6300 block 35 Ave SW subsequent to a parole violation (failed drug test). During the search of the vehicle, DOC located a Grendel 380 handgun and a small quantity of narcotics. DOC contacted SPD for investigation/arrest. Officers seized the drugs and weapon, both placed into evidence. The suspect was a convicted felon and not allowed to possess the weapon. He was taken into SPD custody and booked into the King County Jail for Inv of Unlawful Possession of Firearm.

#2021-071563/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 03-24-2021 at 1649 hours, a USPS semi-truck was travelling northbound on Corson Av S approaching S. Michigan St. The truck initiated an eastbound turn and collided with a bicyclist who suddenly appeared in the roadway. It appears the truck was proceeding on a green light and the bicyclist was operating against his traffic control device. The cyclist (unidentified adult male) was pronounced deceased at the scene by Seattle Fire. The driver was evaluated by a drug recognition expert, no impairment was detected.

#2021-071728/North Precinct/Third Watch:

On 03-24-2021 at 2030 hours, officers and a sergeant responded to a bias incident with no crime. Victim stated that while shopping at a local grocery store with her daughter, she noticed/heard an unknown male following them around and mumbling something towards them. Victim could not understand what he was saying except at one point believed he called her and/or her daughter a derogatory term. The victim stated that she felt that she was targeted because of the male’s perception of her race. Officers conducted a thorough investigation.
