#2025-286604/East Precinct/Second Watch/E1:
At 1923 hours, officers were dispatched to a report of an accidental discharge of a firearm. The victim reported that he was inside his apartment unit, located near the intersection of Melrose Avenue East and East Denny Way. He stated that while attempting to remove the barrel of the firearm, it became stuck and subsequently discharged, injuring his hand. Seattle Fire Department (SFD) arrived on the scene, and American Medical Response (AMR) transported the victim to the hospital. Officers checked multiple units on the 6th and 7th floors, finding that everyone appeared safe.

At 1905 hours, officers responded to the 300 block of Broadway for a man with a gun call pointing it at people near the QFC. Officers arrived and found the suspect who fled from them. Officers engaged in a 3-block foot pursuit and set up containment. K-9 and Guardian One were utilized. The suspect was apprehended in the containment area. The suspect did not have a gun on him and an area check for the handgun did not locate it. The suspect was booked on obstruction and drug charges.
