Seattle police detectives are investigating a shooting that injured a 19-year-old man in South Park last night.
On Jan. 13 at 9:35 p.m., patrol officers responded to a shooting in the 500 block of South Cloverdale Street. Shortly thereafter, a victim called 911 reporting that he just got shot. Police found the man nearby suffering from a gunshot wound to his left ankle.
Officers treated the victim until the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) arrived and continued treatment. SFD transported him to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.
Police determined that the victim was driving his car on South Cloverdale Street when he was shot at by unknown suspects on foot. The suspects fled the area before police arrived. No arrests were made.
The victim’s car sustained significant damage from gunfire and officers impounded it to the Processing Room. Gun Violence Reduction Unit (GVRU) detectives responded to process the scene and to the hospital for interviews.
