#2026-54831/North Precinct/First Watch/J1:
At 0926 hours, officers were dispatched to an armed robbery in the 8500 block of 15th Ave NW. The suspect gave the cashier a note with instructions to put money on gift cards and to empty the register. The suspect then lifted his shirt up, at which point the employee saw a black handgun in the suspects waistband. The suspect then exited the store in an unknown direction. Patrol collected evidence on scene. Robbery Unit was notified.
#2026-55376/North Precinct/Second Watch/L2:
At 1857 hours, patrol officers responded to an armed robbery of a business in L-Sector. The suspect displayed a note and a handgun and escaped with a $500 gift card. Robbery was notified. Patrol processed the scene and recovered evidence.
#2026-55214/West Precinct/Second Watch/M2:
At 1556 hours, officers were dispatched to an apartment complex for a threats call. Staff at the apartment reported that a tenant pulled a knife on an employee. Suspect keeps exiting his unit and brandishing the knife and yelling at employees. Per staff at the apartment complex, they have been having issues with the tenant. In the past suspect had caused property destruction and had retreated into his apartment when officers arrived. Today, staff is adamant that the suspect is in his unit. Officers established PC for felony harassment. Officers attempted to contact the suspect in his unit. There was no answer at the door. HNT responded and contacted the suspect via a phone call. At the time, officers were not certain if the suspect was still inside his unit. A warrant was obtained and officer along with SWAT cleared the suspect’s unit. Suspect was not present and an area check for the suspect had resulted negative.
