Seattle police officers are investigating a shooting this morning that injured a 37-year-old man near Hing Hay Park in the Chinatown-International District.
At about 6:20 a.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 400 block of Maynard Avenue South. There, they found a man in an alleyway with a gunshot wound to his leg. Officers treated his injuries and applied a tourniquet until firefighters arrived and took over care. Medics transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.
Police determined that an altercation occurred between the suspect and the victim before the shooting. These circumstances are under investigation. The suspect fled the area before police arrived and officers did not find him.
