Two Men Seriously Injured in Chinatown-International District Hit-and-Run

Seattle police are investigating a hit-and-run collision that seriously injured two men late Sunday night, May 31, in the Chinatown-International District neighborhood. 

At about 11:40 p.m., officers received reports of a hit-and-run collision at the intersection of 12th Avenue South and South Jackson Street. Officers arrived and found a 29-year-old man and a 36-year-old man on the ground suffering from serious injuries. Officers provided aid until Seattle Fire Department arrived and transported both victims to Harborview Medical Center. One man remains in critical condition, while the other remains in serious condition.   

Police secured the area and began investigating. Officers interviewed witnesses and reviewed video footage obtained by the Real Time Crime Center, to assist with the investigation.   

The investigation revealed a dark colored vehicle was traveling westbound on South Jackson Street when it crossed the intersection, accelerated onto the sidewalk, and struck the two victims. The driver continued westbound without stopping.   

Detectives with the Homicide and Assault Unit are leading the investigation and will work to determine what led up to the assault.
