At 0640 hours, officers responded to a report of a trespassing male experiencing a mental health crisis. Multiple officers were assaulted upon contacting the suspect. The suspect was taken into custody. The suspect received treatment at HMC prior to being booked. Two officers were treated at HMC for minor injuries.

At 2305 hours, officers were dispatched to a report of a strong-arm robbery. As they were enroute, the described suspect was also described in another firearm call approximately 1 hour earlier. During that call, the suspect was detained and spoke to, but no firearm was recovered and there were no victims to a crime. During the robbery call, there were also no victims, and the caller didn’t want any contact. The same suspect was located and spoke to again but still had no firearm. After a full investigation, no robbery was found to have occurred.

At 21:29 hours, dispatch responded to reports of a shooting in the 2900 block of South Holly Street. Officers arrived and located over 40 spent shell casings on the roadway and in a small park nearby. Officers located five residences that had been struck by bullets, as well as at three vehicles. No one was injured during the incident. The investigation revealed that two vehicles pulled up in the intersection, and then numerous shots were heard. It appeared that there had been gunfire exchange between people in the park and one or two vehicles on the street. Gun Violence Reduction Unit will be working to determine what led to the shooting.

At 2050 hours, a female victim was attempting to deposit a check at a bank in the 4700 block of Fauntleroy Way Southwest, when two teenaged males, wearing dark clothing and masks, both armed with handguns, demanded the money from the victim account. She told them she had no money in her account and was attempting to deposit a check. Then the suspects demanded to see the check. When she showed them, her check they fled on foot into a nearby black sedan, license plate unknown, and fled the scene eastbound at a high rate of speed.
