Detectives are investigating a shooting in a North Seattle gas station parking lot.
At 4:48 a.m., dispatch received reports of a shooting in the 10500 block of Aurora Avenue North.
Officers arrived and found a 44-year-old man with scratches to his head that may have been caused by glass fragments. Seattle Fire Department medics treated him at the scene, and he was released. No other victims were located.
The man was not involved in the shooting. He had just driven into the parking lot in his delivery truck when the shots were fired.
The investigation revealed a gold Chevrolet SUV was parked in the lot during the shooting and immediately left the scene. Officers later found the abandoned SUV near North 105th and Fremont Avenue North.
Police believe the SUV was targeted in the shooting and are treating it as a victim vehicle. Officers also recovered shell casings across the street from the gas station.
No suspects are in custody.
The Gun Violence Reduction Unit will lead the investigation and work to determine what led up to the shooting.
