On 12/01/09, at approximately 9:00 a.m., a Honda Civic 4D was facing southbound on 26th Ave SW behind another vehicle, waiting to exit Westwood Village in the 2600 block of SW Barton and turn left onto SW Barton St.
When the light turned green for north and soundbound traffic, the lead car cleared the intersection and the Honda began to turn left onto SW Barton St. As it did so, the Honda struck a 63-yoa female pedestrian who was crossing northbound across SW Barton St in the east crosswalk.
The pedestrian was treated on scene and transported by Seattle Fire Department Medics to Harborview Medical Center, with life threatening injuries.
A Drug Recognition Officer responded to the scene and screened the driver and did not detect any signs of alcohol or drug impairment.
She was interviewed and released to a relative pending further investigation.
The Traffic Collsion Investigators responded and processed the scene.
