On January 25th at approximately 3:04 p.m. officers responded to a vehicle/pedestrian collision at NE 43rd Street and University Way NE. Preliminary investigation indicates that a 36-year-old male driver was heading southbound on University Way NE and turned right onto NE 43rd Street. As the driver passed through the crosswalk he struck a 23-year-old male pedestrian. The pedestrian fell to the pavement and struck his head on the ground.
SFD Medics responded to the scene and transported the pedestrian to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Traffic Collision Investigation Squad detectives responded to the scene and continue to actively investigate.
