On 2/7/10, at approximately 10:15 a.m., the victim was working as an armored car security guard. The victim was at a business in the 9300 block of Rainier Av S.  to pick up a delivery and was returning to the vehicle. The suspect came up from behind and attempted to steal the money bag.

The victim was knocked to the ground and was pulled along as he held on to the money bag. The victim was in fear for his safety and fired 6 rounds from his issued weapon. The suspect was hit by three of the rounds, two in the chest area and one in the elbow.

The suspect was treated by Seattle Fire Department and transported to Harborview Medical Center with life threatening injuries.

The victim was not injured.

Robbery Detectives and CSI responded and processed the scene.

The suspect is a 40- year-old male.
