On May 25th, at approximately 1:17 AM, officers were driving by the 12700 Block of Lake City Way NE when they observed a group of approximately 40 males all wearing white t-shirts standing in the parking lot of a bar. When the group saw the officers they started to leave. A short time later, officers heard a number of shots being fired and returned to that location. About the same time a 911 call came in stating that a male was face down in the parking lot in front of the bar. Seattle Fire responded with officers and located the adult male. He appeared to be have been struck with an object in the head. The victim was transported to HMC with life-threatening injuries (blunt force trauma to the head). As officers were responding to the scene they began broadcasting descriptions of fleeing vehicles. One of these vehicles was later stopped in the area of N. 143rd Street and Lake City Way. Four suspects were arrested and a handgun was recovered. The vehicle was impounded. Gang and CSI detectives also responded to process the scene.
A short time later officers received information that an additional suspect was inside a room at a motel in the 11700 Block of Aurora Avenue North. Officers responded to that location but determined that the suspect was no longer there. Detectives served a search warrant on a room and associated vehicle at that location. This remains an on-going investigation.
