A robbery suspect stabs store security to effect escape. On July 21st at approximately 11:57 p.m. store security confronted a suspect for shoplifting at a Safeway at 14th Avenue NW and NW Market Street. The suspect resisted the security officers’ attempts to keep him in the store and stabbed a security officer in the ear with a knife. The suspect then fled the store.
Responding officers apprehended the suspect four blocks away and placed him under arrest.
SFD medics were called to the scene to evaluate and treat the injured store employee.
The suspect was subsequently booked into the King County Jail.
