Disturbance early this morning, two arrested, gun recovered

West Precinct officers were flagged down early this morning and  ended up arresting a couple who could not behave themselves while outside a  nightclub in Belltown.

A 21 year old male was making unwanted advances toward a woman outside a club in the 100 Block of Bell Street just before 2:30 am .  The woman did not want anything to do with him, and the man would not take “no” for an answer.  Meanwhile, the girlfriend of the suspect, who has a baby with him, took exception to her boyfriend speaking with the other female, and rather than hold him accountable, approached the other woman and punched her.   The victim attempted to defend herself, and the fight was on.  While they were fighting, the male apparently decided he was no longer romantically interested in the victim, and he too punched the victim in the face.

The male suspect was reportedly carrying a handgun in the waistband of his sweatpants and during the fight, the gun fell from its hiding place. His girlfriend then reportedly picked up the gun and pointed it at the victim.

It was at this time that officers began to arrive, and as they did, the female apparently dropped the gun and covered it with leaves. It was ultimately retrieved by club security and was turned over to officers.

As it turns out, both the male and female suspects are convicted felons, which prohibits them from possessing a firearm . The 21-year-old female was booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Assault and Investigation of Violation of Uniform Firearm Act (VUFA), while the  male suspect was booked for Investigaion of VUFA with a request for charges of  misdemeanor Assault.
