Two Arrested in Pridefest Fracas

Bicycle patrol officers arrested two Marysville men following a fracas at Sunday’s Pridefest event at the Seattle Center.

Bike patrol officers first became an aware of a loud debate between two groups of men near 4th Avenue and Broad Street. Officers continued with their safety patrol throughout the center, only to be called back to 4th and Broad after a fight broke out between the two groups of men.

During the fight, one of the victims had a “Repent or Else” sign ripped from his hands and was punched by one of the suspects.

Officers returned to the scene and began searching for the suspects. They didn’t make it far, only about 50 feet, before officers swooped in and detained the two men, who are 36 and 22 years old.

A witness at the scene provided officers with video of the melee. Officers arrested both suspects and transported them to the West Precinct for processing.

Based on preliminary investigation, officers released the 22-year-old from the precinct and booked the 36-year-old into the King County Jail. Officers have requested misdemeanor assault charges against both men.
