Police Investigating Gunfire In Rainier Beach

After receiving several reports of gunfire in Rainier Beach last night, Seattle police officers found shell casings, a damaged vehicle and a trail of blood, but no victims and few witnesses.

At about 9:30 PM, several people called 911 and reported hearing nearly a dozen gunshots near Rainier Ave S. and Seward Park Ave. S.

Police found evidence that at least two different types of guns were fired at the scene and also found blood at the scene—indicating someone was likely injured in the incident—but weren’t able to find a victim.

Officers contacted a number of people in the neighborhood about the incident, but no one provided police with much information about what had led to the shooting or where the victim and suspect had gone.
