North Seattle shooting suspect being sought

An early morning shooting in North Seattle leaves one man critically injured. On 11/30/13, just shortly before 2:00 a.m., officers patrolling the area of 12th Ave NE and NE 42nd St heard shots being fired. A 911 call came in stating a victim had been shot.

Officers arrived quickly and saw numerous people on foot in the area.  Officers located a male with a gunshot wound to the chest- that exited out of his groin area. The scene was contained and the victim was given aid.  Medics then transported him to HMC.

The officers attempted to interview people, but those contacted stated they didn’t see what happened. Officers were able to track down one witness by phone that agreed to return to the scene.  He stated he saw the shots being fire, but was trying to quickly get out of the area, so he didn’t see much.

An Evidence Technician processed the scene and gathered shell casings, clothing and photographs for evidence. There were no other reports of injuries or property damage.

The genesis of this shooting is not yet known. The investigation continues.
