Police Investigating Cause of Fatal Four Vehicle Collision on Aurora Bridge

Seattle Police Department Traffic Collision Investigators are working to determine the cause of a fatal four-vehicle collision Thursday on the Aurora Bridge.

Just before 11:15 AM, a Ride the Ducks tour vehicle was headed northbound on the Aurora Bridge as a second tour bus was headed southbound. The two tour vehicles collided, along with two passenger vehicles.

Collision investigators are reviewing witness reports of a possible mechanical issue on the Duck vehicle and are examining evidence spanning the length of the bridge.

Police conducted a preliminary evaluation of the drivers for signs of intoxication and did not find any evidence of impairment.

The Aurora Bridge will be closed as police continue to investigate., Authorities from SPD, the Washington State Department of Transportation and Seattle Department of Transportation will provide updates on the status of the bridge as they become available.
