Detectives are investigating after an overnight shooting in a North Seattle park sent two people to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Officers responded to Gas Works Park just before 12:30 a.m Friday for reports of shots fired in the area. Officers arrived and found two victims inside the park who had been shot.
Witnesses provided a description of the suspect and said he fled the park prior to officers arriving. Additional witnesses said there were two separate groups having a get together inside the park when a fight broke out between the two groups. The suspect then pulled out a gun and shot two people. One victim was hit in the leg and the other was hit in the stomach and leg. Seattle Fire Department medics took both victims to Harborview Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.
Gang unit detectives searched the park and recovered shell casings and additional evidence. Officers continue to search for the suspect at this time. If you have any information please contact police immediately.
