Police Investigating Shots Fired in the Central Area/Squire Park Neighborhood

East precinct patrol officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 900 block of 21 Avenue around 9:08 p.m. last night.

Many residents heard the shots, but police did not locate any eye witnesses. Police collected about ten shell casings and will submit them to the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab for forensic analysis.

Police found an abandoned red Camaro convertible and believe that it was involved in the incident. The driver of the Camaro fled after striking about a dozen parked cars.

An SPD K9 officer and the King County Sheriff’s Office “Guardian 1” helicopter attempted to track the suspects, but were ultimately unsuccessful.

Police impounded the Camaro to the Seattle Police Processing Room and will search it pending a search warrant.

This remains an active investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
