On October 16th at 4:36 AM, West Precinct patrol officers responded to a silent alarm at a restaurant located in the 1800 block of Eastlake Avenue E. When they arrived, one officer observed a lone suspect carrying a backpack leaving the restaurant through the back door. Upon seeing the police, the suspect dropped the backpack and tried to make a getway by running around the building. One officer chased after him while the other officer went around the building in the opposite direction. The second officer was waiting when the suspect circled around. The officers convinced the suspect to surrender peacefully, which he did. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Precinct. The suspect was booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Burglary. It is possible that this same suspect may have been involved in other area burglaries. West Precinct Burglary/Theft detectives will conduct further investigation.
