Semi-Truck Accidents Block I-5

On November 7th at 2:00 A.M., an SPD K-9 officer observed a serious accident on I-5 South near the James Street Exit, which blocked all lanes. A semi-truck fuel tank ruptured, spilling at least 60 gallons of fuel on the roadway. A second accident occurred just north of the scene. SPD officers blocked all southbound lanes of I-5 at Union Street, sending all traffic onto the surface streets. Three Seattle Police Department units assisted in moving traffic back onto I-5 to James Street. There were no life-threatening injuries in any of these collisions.
