On November 15 at approximately 1:46 AM, officers responded to a disturbance call in the 700 block of East Pine St. Upon arrival several citizens were attempting to restrain the suspect inside a grocery store. When officers moved in, the suspect grabbed a female officer by the hair and attempted to smash her face into a cooler. Officers subdued the suspect and placed him under arrest (the female officer injured her hand defending herself against the suspect). Investigation revealed the suspect had caused a disturbance inside the grocery store. Upon being asked to leave, the suspect assaulted the store owner, a 65-year-old man. When the victim’s family intervened (61-year-old and 31-year-old females), they too were assaulted by the suspect, causing passersby to get involved. The suspect, a 23-year-old man, was booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Assault (felony).
