Robbery and Assault suspect arrested

On November 15 around 4:00 PM, officers responded to the 100 block of 22 Avenue East for the report of a male who struck another male in the head and ran from the scene. Officers were in the area looking for the suspect when they were called to a disturbance at a grocery store located in the 2200 block of East Madison Street. Investigation revealed that the same suspect had entered the store, concealed two bottles of beer in his pockets and attempted to leave without paying. When the suspect saw the security guard at the entrance he punched the guard in the face and attempted to run. The guard wrestled the suspect to the ground and tried to handcuff him. Officers arrived on scene and placed the suspect under arrest. The suspect, a 29-year-old male, was booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery.
