Robbery suspect arrested

Since November 13th, a lone male was believed to be responsible for 4 commercial robberies. In each, the suspect implied a weapon. Two occurred in Renton and two occurred in Seattle. On November 28th, he robbed a sandwich store in 00 block of W. Mercer Way and the following day he robbed a coffee shop in the 500 block of Elliot Avenue W.

Information developed during the on-going investigation led to the identity of the 49-year-old suspect. He was presented in a photomontage in the Seattle incidents and positively identified. Yesterday, the suspect failed to show up for his scheduled appointment with his parole officer. Today, further investigation revealed that the suspect was staying in the 13000 block of 6th Avenue S. in Burien. He was not there.  A ruse was utilized to have him respond back home. He arrived back home approximately one hour later and was taken into custody without incident. Consent was obtained for the house and vehicle and items linking him to the robberies were recovered. The suspect was transported to the Robbery Office for processing. He refused to give a statement. He was booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery. Robbery detectives will have responsibility for the continuing investigation and will coordinate their investigation with Renton PD.
