On 1/11/09 at approximately 10:00 AM South Precinct Officers responded to a business in the 9600 block of Renton Avenue S. The clerk reported that he had been robbed at gunpoint approximately one hour prior. The clerk was able to provide a good description, which matched a suspect description from previous robberies that had occurred over the last few weeks. Despite the delay in reporting, officers did an area search for the suspect. During the search officers observed a person matching the description in the 9200 Rainier Av. S. When the suspect saw officers he fled on foot. The area was contained and several witnesses reported seeing the suspect within the perimeter. The suspect was located and a weapon (pellet gun) was found about fifty yards away. Officers also recovered clothing that was described in previous robberies. The suspect was transported to the Robbery Unit for further questioning. He was later booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery.
