A South Precinct Officer investigating a theft was given information about illegal activity that the victim’s boyfriend was involved in. She also provided details about a criminal enterprise that stole mail, washed checks, and committed bank fraud. Officers began investigating this information were able to determine the identities of the suspects involved. With the assistance of the United States Postal Police three suspects were arrested and numerous washed checks, stolen credit/ID cards and a large amount of stolen mail was recovered. The investigation was turned over to the Postal Police for charging.
