On 02/26/09 at 9:21 p.m., three pedestrians (all from Michigan on vacation) were crossing eastbound across 3rd Ave at Lenora St. from the south side. A vehicle ( Dodge pickup) was westbound on Lenora and made a left turn onto 3rd Avenue striking the pedestrians. One was hit in the leg with just bruising to the leg (treated at scene); two others sustained more serious injuries and were treated on scene by Seattle Fire and transported to an area hospital. SFD stated both pedestrians were in serious condition with one having possible life threatening injuries. All of 3rd/Lenora was shut down. Traffic Collision Investigators responded to the scene.
The driver of the truck was arrested and subsequently booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Vehicular Assault. The investigation continues.
