Shots fired in Belltown

On February 26th at 6:35 PM, a West Precinct patrol officer heard 4 shots coming from the area of 4th and Bell Street.  Upon arriving on scene, officers located 4 shell casings on the NW corner of 4th and Bell. According to witnesses, the shooter was a black male wearing a dark colored, hooded sweatshirt.  The suspect had fled east on Bell to 5th Avenue where he got into the driver’s seat of a white Cadillac.  He drove away south on 5th Avenue.  Apparently, there were two other men in the car waiting for him.

No one was struck by the gunfire.  Officers discovered property damage to the rear window of a vehicle parked on 4th Avenue.  A bullet fragment was found inside the vehicle.  Officers were not able to locate the registered owner.

An area check for the suspect was conducted without success.
