On 4/17/09 at 8:45 p.m., a male adult caller stated that a man was shot at NE 42 and University Way NE. Numerous 911 calls followed confirming that a disturbance and subsequent shooting occurred. SPD, UWPD and SFD units arrived, locating the victim on the Northeast corner of University Way NE/NE 42nd street. The adult male victim was shot in the face, with a large flesh wound to the mouth/cheek area.
The suspect was described as a BM / 5’08 adult, possibly wearing a white bandana across his face, wearing a hat. The suspect fled on foot southbound in the alley. Only marginal accounts of the assault were relayed, the reason for the assault is unknown at this time .
K9 attempted a track and Guardian 1 responded with negative results. The victim was transported to HMC/ER via Medic one.
The victim’s injuries were initially listed as critical, however HMC was able to stabilize the victim.
The scene was investigated by both the Gang unit and the Homicide unit. The investigation continues.
