Carjacking suspect arrested near Seatac

On 4/25/09 at 2:18a.m., victim called 911 stating she was car jacked at 1 Av S/S Washington.  Suspect threw victim out of her car, 1983 Chevy Monte Carlo SS, and drove off with it.  Officers recall seeing the vehicle a couple minutes prior to broadcast heading toward I-5. An intense area search was conducted.  The Gang unit (in black SPD marked patrol vehicle) spotted the Monte Carlo southbound I-5 near Tukwila.  The suspect vehicle got off of I-5 at S 188th St Exit at SeaTac.  With sufficient units on hand, officers turned on their lights and sirens and initiated the stop.  The suspect vehicle refused to stop.  After a short pursuit (less than 1 minute), the Monte Carlo crashed into the sidewalk.  The suspect was taken into custody immediately.  No injuries to suspect or officers.  No property damage to any city vehicles.   King County SO also responded and assisted at the scene until it was under control.  It should be noted that as soon as officers tried to stop the suspect vehicle at SeaTac, another Monte Carlo tried to interfere by getting in between the suspect vehicle and the officers.  That driver was also arrested when he drove by the crash scene.

The suspect was arrested and booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery.

It is unknown at this time what the second suspect was booked for.
