On June 1st, at approximately 5:54 p.m., South Precinct officers and Gang Detectives responded to a 911 call of shots fired from a moving vehicle near the corner of 46 Avenue South and South Chicago Street. A witness stated that they saw a Ford Explorer with two suspects speed past the corner and fire 4 or 5 shots from a handgun into the air. Officers made contact with the two suspects a short distance away. The suspects were arrested after they and the vehicle were positively identified by witnesses. During a search of the vehicle, a handgun and ammuntion was recovered. A records check of the gun later showed that it was stolen. Both the adult males were booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Drive-By Shooting and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.
