On 06-10-09 at 4:42 p.m. a pickup driven by a 37-year-old male was traveling northbound on 5th Avenue NE approaching NE 97th Street. At the same time a 91-year-old male started to walk across 5th Avenue NE from west to east at NE 97th Street. The pickup struck the victim as he crossed the center-line into the northbound lane. The Seattle Fire Department responded to the scene and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center with life threatening injuries.
The driver did not appear to be under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
Traffic Collision investigators responded and processed the scene.
