25-year-old Murder case solved

Almost 25 years to the day, a Seattle Police Homicide detective assigned to the Cold Case unit arrested the now 50-year-old male suspect in a murder case that had been unsolved since 1984. The suspect was arrested at police headquarters today after DNA evidence linked him to the crime in early August of 2009. Cold Case detectives have been actively investigating the case after it was re-opened approximately three years ago.

The original incident occurred on August 12th, 1984. The 70-year-old female victim was murdered in her home in the 7900 block of 46th Avenue South. The suspect will be booked later today into the King County Jail for Investigation of Homicide.
