On 8/21/09, at about 7:40 p.m., officers responded to the 1500 block of Thorndyke Ave W to investigate an occupied burglary. The officers learned that the couple that resides at a residence in the area had returned to their house a few minutes earlier, entering through the garage door. The couple heard the door leading into the house from the garage slam and saw a figure running inside their house.
The victims’ called 911, and officers responded to the area. The responding officers set up containment and called for a K9, but the track was not successful. The suspects were described as two White males who apparently fled the area on foot. The victims’ next-door neighbor, who saw the suspects, provided a description. The suspects stole various items from the victims’ home.
