On 8/27/09, at approximately 3:07a.m., 911 received numerous calls of 4-6 shots fired in the area of Rainier Av S / S Byron St. Neighbors in the area heard some sort of disturbance between the victim and suspect, moments before shots rang out.
The victim, a 31-year-old male, ran to a nearby alley where he collapsed from his injuries. Seattle Fire Personnel responded and treated the victim on scene. He was then rushed to Harboview Medical Center, where he succumbed to his wounds.
The suspect was seen getting into a vehicle, which left N/B on Rainier Av S. The suspect is described as a black male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 180 pounds, wearing a white shirt and dark pants.
The area was cordoned off until Homicide and CSI responded. Rainier Av S remained closed until 0700.
Although the investigation is ongoing, this incident does not appear to be random.
