Traffic collision downtown, Metro bus vs. car

On September 5th at approximately 3:56 p.m. officers responded to a traffic collision between a gray VW GTI and a Metro bus involving minor injuries near 3rd Avenue and Wall Street. Preliminary investigation indicates that the adult female driver of the VW was traveling westbound on Wall Street and ran a red light at 3rd Avenue, colliding with a northbound Metro bus.

There were two adult passengers on the bus at the time of the collision (including a seventy-year-old woman). Both passengers in addition to the adult male bus driver were transported via ambulance to Harborview Medical Center (HMC) with minor injuries. The driver and sole occupant of the VW was also transported by ambulance to HMC with minor injuries. Both the bus and the VW were towed from the scene. The driver of the VW was cited for a red light violation, a $191.00 infraction.
